We're back from our trip and our breeding group is complete

Well in the last two days my husband and I have driven 18 hours, all to go to a rat breeder in NC to find the best finale for my breeding group. Is there anything I won't do to find the healthiest lines for my project? If so we haven't found it yet.

Now we have the beginnings of a very nice breeding group (and also some great pets, don't let me fool you, part of the reason I wanted more is just because I love having them around!) Anyway we now have 3 males and four females suitable for breeding. I will post pics as soon as they've all calmed down and settled in a bit, but here are some descriptions:
Male1--Figaro--brown and white smooth coat painted hooded dumbo male with white triangle on forehead.

Male2--Lecter--Cocoa and cream smooth coat dumbo with dark ruby eyes

Male3--Quinton--Gray and white smooth coat dumbo

FemaleA--Agatha--Brown and White bareback dumbo with small white mark on forehead

FemaleB--Agnes--Brown and White bareback dumbo with freckles on back legs

FemaleC--Gretel--agouti and white berkshire rex dumbo

FemaleD--Isabella(Izzy)--double rex totally hairless except or jet black face mask

I think over the next several months we can expect some awesome babies. So of course anytime anyone thinks they may be interested I'll be glad to add to my waiting list. Mostly though, they are all very sweet and precious and a joy to have around.

Oh come on, you won't drive from Ontario Canada to Nashville TN to pick up a rat? What kind of rat lover are you?
Seriously though, make a vacation of it sometime, Nashville is the music city, loads to do here!

I am going to the USA in 2009,tho I am not sure how close I will be to you.

But if you still have babies then...I may consider it.

Pics are now posted in another thread. The first breeding will be in May. We will breed Figaro our brown and white painted hood dumbo to Agnes one of our brown and white bareback dumbos. We will also be breeding Lecter, the cocoa and cream dumbo with ruby eyes to Agatha our other brown and white bareback dumbo. We will be expecting brown and white smooth coat dumbos (based on recessives in the line there would be a possibility of other colors as well) and we may get some ruby eyes. If all goes as planned they will be bred early may, babies born in early June, babies ready to go to homes by the end of July/beginning of August. I'd be glad to put you on a waiting list for anything you are interested in. We will be breedin the rest as they get old enough. They are quite young now. I'd also be glad to send you more pics of the parents if you would like. All babies will be available for $12.00 which includes a 3 week health warrantee as long as they are quarantined during this period, an information sheet, and a pedigree. We are willing to drive a reasonable distance to meet people. At this point we're not comfortable shipping.
