What a FRIGHT!
I almost had a heart failure today! I heard this awful screeching earlier and so I immedialty ran to check what was going on.My first thought was Sprite was attacking her babies!
Well I have this barn in Sprite's cage, you know those little farm playhouses for kids? I think they are "little people" play farms or something, well I have one in her cage, as she likes to nest and play in it.Well one of the baby ratlets had her head caught in the window part of it! I immedaitly freaked, she was screeching and I was panicking. My bf helped take the window thing aprt.He had to use plyers and I really thought she was a goner.Poor thing screeched and it broke my heart.
Finally she was free...she was then a little shaken up and jumpy. But otherwise fine.I checked her neck and throat and there didn't appear to be any marks or problems.I am gonna watch her closely and if anything bad starts to happen, I will call the vet.But she seems ok.
I immedialty went and took all the window parts off of that farm and checked it over. There are no more hazards on it...oh man, if something bad happened to that ratlet, I would definatly take the farm out...I wouldn't be able to look at it, if something terrible happened.
But man, it was sooo scary!Poor little ratlet...

Oh, I'm so glad you were within hearing distance when it happened and that she's ok! Keep us updated on how she's doing, please.

I am so glad the baby was okay. It really sounds like a kid - getting into trouble where you would least expect them too! It is good you were home and heard her!!

Oh, the little blue ratty is now fine! She is doing really well and all of the babies are starting to crawl out of the nest and explore...she is pretty chunky already for a female!!
I am glad I was home too when it happened, I wouldn't know what I would do if I came home to find her stuck and "gone".But the good thing is, she is doing greyt now!
