What do you feed your rats?
What does your staple diet consist of?
I feed a tweaked version of the 'Sue Bee's rat diet"
Does anyone add a seed mix? What lite dog food kibble do you use?

I don't do a seed mix. I feed about 70% harlan teklad (I always misspell it) which provides all the protein and vit/min my boys really need. I buy it online either from Mainly Rat Rescue, or from Amazon under it's commercial name Native Earth. I supplement with fresh or frozen fruits and veggies, kashi cereals, and about once a week they get treated with soy yogurt.

When I had rats, I fed harlan Teklad along with fresh fruits, veggies, and occasional meat. When I didn't have healthy meat (like chicken, worms, turkey) I fed Innova Evo (prior to P&G buying them out) then Blue.

My mix is basically this:
Muesli
Dried Bananas
Total cereal
Cheerios
Dry tri-colored pasta
Dry rolled oats
Blue Buffalo Lite (dog kibble)
Unsalted sunflowed seeds
Seed mix
Mazuri Lab blocks
Kaytee rat food (used very sparingly)

When you use a mix with dog food you don't use lab blocks as well...the whole mix is to replace lab blocks. Its actually throwing off the balance if you use both.
I feed Harlan Teklad 2014 (when I can get it) and Mazuri 6F as my 2nd choice (easier for me to get)...with veggies, and very little fruit.

Perfect size...I only have 2 pudgy rats, but they are over 2 years old. All my rats are extremely active getting hours of play time a day. They maintain a healthy body weight for sure- none of my males are over 600 Gs. It's important to me.

I feed my rats this:
Cheerios
Rice cereal
100% natural oatmeal
I can't remember the name of the other food I give them, but you can find them in a tall can like container in the baby food section. They are shaped like flowers and they're banana flavored. (I sneak a couple of them out of the can every once in a while! They taste so good!)
I also give them fresh broccoli, coli flower, carrots, I sometimes give them grapes too. c:
