What the..?!?!
When I opened my door to leave this morning, I tripped over a little blue cage sitting on the landing in front of my door. On top of the cage was a note that reads "Our owner can't keep us, can you?" Inside are two of the BIGGEST rats I've seen. One is an albino, and the other is mostly white with a few light tan spots. There were two grocery bags full of supplies next to the cage. What on earth? Who would drop off such big rats in such a tiny cage at MY door? This is very, very strange.
I am happy to have two new additions though, but they don't have names. I think they will be known as Kit and Kaboodle.
BTW, I'm assuming that by the size of these rats, they have been fed cat food their whole lives, since that was in one of the bags.

At least they've found someone that will love them and care for them! You must be making a name for yourself, lol.

I don't know anyone who has rats though... maybe someone overheard me shopping or at the vet. Who knows.
While moving them into a larger cage, I found a few beetles living in the bottom of the one they came in, which appears to be a hamster cage. They had food and a water bottle, and the litter seemed clean, so I don't think they were too neglected.

Alright! Here are some.
I am so sorry about the poor lighting. Cheap cam. These were taken with all of my lights on. The pic with two cages has the one they had before in front. I will try to take better pictures during the daytime. Also, neither of them is very happy about being held, so they had to be taken through the cage bars. Kaboodle (the one in the tube) is very antisocial, and is also the bigger of the two.

Wow... I'm glad they've got you to take care of them now, although that must have been quite the shock...

Very awesome, I'm glad they have a good home now.
I would certainly be happy to find such a nice surprise on my doorstep. Perhaps tomorrow...

The albino is very unsocialized, but last night I was able to pick him up without shedding any blood. They are much friendlier when they get peanut butter pretzel chunks for being good.
