Anesthesia and Chinchillas

What are the types of anesthesia that can and cannot be used on chins?

Isoflurane or sevoflurane are the only anesthetics I will use on my chins.

One of my chins had to be anestitised (sp?) to amputate a front "finger" bone. I am not sure what they used but it only worked for a matter of a couple minutes.

My vet uses Isoflurane. And for chins, no pre-op meds as they lengthten the time they stay asleep after the gas is taken off.

How do you know about those 2 kinds of anasthetic? I want to do some more research on the subject and talk to my vet about it when I see her next- she successfully neutered 6 of our chins and I know she told me what she used, but I can't recall. She also operates on a heating pad and puts them in an incubator afterward- perfectly done work, all the boys are completely natural, even get a bit randy now and then!
