bonding

i've had my chinchilla for about 1 1/2 weeks hes only 3 or 4 months. hes still a little frightened by fast movement and loud noises. whats the best way 2 get him 2 bond with me he will jump out of the cage onto my hand at night time but wants to almost instantly run around and play he does come and run up my arm and climb on my shoulders and back sometimes. i was wondering if this is a good rate for most chins. any input will be extremely appreciated.
