Chinnie pee?

So tonight, I was playing with my babies and as I was putting them back in their cage, I noticed some kind of gooeyness to the desk that their cage sits on. (It's a Martin's Chinchilla Skyscraper cage.) I noticed chinnie pee on the walls behind their cage, so I cleaned that up. And I also cleaned the gooey stuff on the desk. I noticed this stuff a couple nights ago, where one of the chins was playing. At first, I thought it was something with the floors (mostly wood floor, one area rug), but I didn't see this stuff anywhere. Tonight, I noticed it around the cage on the desk, but I didn't find it on the floor anywhere.

Could this gooeyness be chinnie pee?

I'm sure whatever is is from the chins, as it was never in this room or on this desk before. Just trying to make sure it's something I should expect...

Hm. I'm no help. I've never noticed goo before. When my chins pee on their melamine cage it isn't gooey at all. Just dark pee.

Just following up here...

The gooeyness was pee - just a pile of it that had solidified. Ewww....

I was able to figure it out by its smell. Blech :-X

That was from one of the first times we let them out to play. We've since cleaned pee off of the desk and the walls, so it's a bit easier for us to be sure of what it is.

When we had wire cages, we used shower curtains along the back and side walls the cage was on. My monkeys just HAD to pee from the top shelves, creating this lovely mess of urine. Vinegar works well to clean the cage too, just FYI. Welcome to the world of chinnies!
