hehe Jade I'd be the exact same way!!!! I will never breed any animal cause no-one would be good enough for my babies!!lol Unless of course they were PT members!!hehe That's a different story!!! But on a serious note...I'm glad you aren't selling to her.....question for you are chinchilla's hard to get?? not having them in aus I have no idea but it doesn't seem like you could just go anywhere and get one....that you would have to be patient and wait to get one.....would you be able to just walk into any pet store (god forbid!) and purchase one then and there??

Ugh! That sure tops the list of how NOT to get an animal from a good breeder!
RS, Chinchillas are very easy to get here, just about any petstore that has animals will have some. Finding good quality (as far as fur, temperment, genetics...) is a whole different matter though.

oh okay.....thanx Becki! so pretty much like every other animal in a pet store....and for anyone else reading this I'm not putting down pet stores at all!!! I don't want to be attacked!! I'm just saying that to truly know what you are getting you need to see the parents and know the gentics and bloodlines etc. Not something that pet sotres can generally offer!

I can't believe that person even admitted that!! I will not buy one from a petstore I've seen so many here and there and when you ask about there care they get so defensive, cause they really don't know how to care for them. My sister lcoated one pet store in NC that was feeding there chins rabbit pellets and let the bath house stay in the cage and the poor thing was sleeping in it all the time. Lemme take a guess, you sent a response explaining why not to deal with a pet store in that sense?! Hey, at least she was honest in her answer..

Yeah it was good that she was honest, that way you know not to sell to her. I would never sell to someone like that either if I had chinnies!

Wow! You should feel fortunate that she was being honest!
I had an online ad for my chins. I had someone respond from New York, saying she was looking for high quality chins to breed and asked me to sell her BOTH of my chins for $75, and oh ya, could I please drive them to New York (she knows I live in Michigan). Ya sure, I'm there!
