Talking

Good News!

Kevin and I have been going to that pet store I was talking about a while ago and yesterday we sold the lady 3 of our toys and we got our own shelf!! So I was talking to her and she asked if we were still breeding the chins (even though it's only been a couple days since I last saw her) And I told her we are. She asked if she could buy a couple from me and sell them at the pet store. I told her I really liked to know where my babies were going and she didn't really understand. She said that if someone is going to buy a $150+ animal- they're not going to just throw it outside. I agreed to a degree because lots of people buy high dollar dogs then just abandon them, So I told her "They would try to take good care of them, but they don't really know what chins need." She told me I could probably be right and I pointed out again that I could print out a care sheet as long as she supplies every chin buyer with one. She said I could and I could put whatever at the bottom of each page... ect- "Source: ChinZ-n-Stuff" or what not. I told her I would do that and she said that she would give them out. I'm going to make one today and hopfully get it faxed out. Im praying this will enlighten (sp?? I know that's not right) a teeny portion of my side of the world up on chinnies.

What toys? Thats exciting to see your products on the shelf!!!

Just some extra info:
In the US you must be USDA licensed to sell animals to a pet store. This is to protect you and the new pet owner. I sold small animals to pet stores in the past (never chins, I wouldn't dare). I had 7 large stores with contracts and as the contracts expired I stopped breeding for each store. Why? Because store owners care more about the money than the animal. I had print out sheets, enforced specific feed brands for them to carry and they still neglected the proper care of the animals. I resently talked to an old client ,who has expanded his business and is carrying chins, from a bulk wholesaler, I asked if he was interested in purchasing new cages, that I make and have sold to him for yrs and he informed me that they last too long and likes the plastic better since the chins chew them and they ware out faster. Ignorant Huh. This store has been successful for many years (ripping off the public).

I just like people to be informed. The stores I sold to were large chains and the little guys.

That's aweful... People are just ignorant. I wasn't aware you had to be licensed... Nice thing to know. That must've been hard to keep track of all those things...

Ugg, pet stores can be soo inhuman sometimes. Not buying the cages becuse they last too long, what a jerk! Not to mind the plastic they're ingesting from the other ones is killing them. Some people......

Brenda is on a distinguished road
Chinhappy, since she's not on I'll go ahead and tell you about one that I bought from her a month ago. She started making hayboxes and boy they are great. I would recommend one per chin even if there are more than one in a cage to keep them from fighting over it. It worked wonderful for my mom when she had to babysit for me for a week. There was no mess and all she had to do (very scarce of animals) was take the box down and fill it up with hay and there was no mess at the bottom of the cages. Here is a pic.
