Question

Is this food okay?

I found this food at the market today (I haven't see it here before). It is a Holland food I think - I didn't remebered what brand, and on the big bag it said that it is for Gunea Pigs, Rabbits and Chinchillas. I read that Chins should not be given corn and this food has some in it, but it is not just dried corn...it is somehow softly/crunchy. Since I never used this before I took just a little to give it a try. My female Chin seams to like it but I wanted to ask of what you think, it this food okay to use, cause I still value you opinion greatly.

Do you have the bag?? The only way for us to know if it has enough nutritional value for them is by the ingredients. It looks like it's not actually pellet based, though, so it would be hard to determine what's what without the ingredients. If you can figure out the name I might can find the ingredients online.

I don't nave the bag (it was a big one and I only bought a kilo) but I will phone tomorrow (Monday) to where I bought it and find out the exact name.

BTW, I ordered a proper pelleted food too...still waiting to get it.

I'd take all the visible corn particles out for now. But like Christi said, we'd need the bag ingredients to know for sure.

My offer for supplies still stands too. If you need some, let me know and we'll figure it out.

Thanks for the offer Jade but I already ordered it.

The suplier of this food on the pic is from Belgium (not Holland) and the name of manufacturer is "Versele-Laga". I tried to find more info online but I couldn't even find their oficial site [shrug]. I'll see if I can read what is written on the big bag nest time I visit that pet shop where I bought it...I think I looked it on the first time and that there were some ingreadings written but not in % - how much of what

An ingredient list will do fine - at least we'll be able to tell you if there's anything in it that's dangerous!

I still haven’t got the ingredients for the first food but here...I finally got the proper Chin pellets [Yippee!]
I don’t know the manufacturer or the other facts regarding this new food, but since I got it from a Chin breeder who is feeding his entire heard with it I guess it got to be good. He (the breeder also gave me some phones of few other people who can supply me with more Chin pellet food - once I run out of this that he gave me.
