Molly just had surgury
She had a uterine infection and had to get spayed. I was allowed to watch and take pictures. Turns out, she was PREGNANT! The baby was dead when we opened her up however. It looks like the placenta went bad and killed the baby and triggered the infection. Anyhow, Molly is doing well, she popped up out of the anisthetic and was jumping around, they almost gave her a sedative to keep her from accidentally popping her stitches. :p I took her out and held her and she calmed down. I took pictures, if anyone wants to see them, you can email me.

I am glad to hear Molly is doing good, sorry about the baby. Hope she continues to do well. Did they fix her hernia while they had her under?

He took a look at it and said it would take some major effort to fix. and he would have to made a diferent incision so he left it. It's gone now though, I think with the extra space in there now that it is healing itself.

I am glad Molly is well, and that they got it all cleaned out. If the baby was meant to make it, it would have.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I don't really want to post the pics as I was jumped all over on another forum for doing so. instead, if you wish to see the pics, go to my web page http://dreamwater.net/chincentral go to my chinchillas, and there is a link to the pics from Molly's page.

Chinchilla,
I think it's WONDERFUL that you posted these pictures for us!! I have never seen or even heard of a chinchilla spaying yet, this is such valuable info!
I have to ask, because I'm still licking wounds, was the forum that gave you a hard time, perchance, Chins & Quills? They are quite meddlesome and prohibiting, without due cause, from my experience. There are some discussions there that the administrators simply locked out because people were expressing strongly-felt opinions, as in the fur-related forum that I wanted to add to, but couldn't. What a shame!
