Need cage ideas

I need some ideas for cages that are safe, and not too hard or expensive to build. Also, what is melamine, how expensive is it, and can you get it at Lowe's(ex)?

Dana,
I would say go to Martins cages, their cages are inexpensive and quite safe.

My brother-in-law is building me a cage and he priced the melamine at about $20 a sheet. You only need two sheets though. Melamine is really good to use for chin cages because it prevents urine saturation. It's kind of like a pressboard material. There are plans for a chin cage on Chin bin, but it's probably a little more advanced than what you're looking for. And yes, you can find it at Lowe's, and Home Depot. HTH!

Dallas is on a distinguished road
WOW! I love that cage! And that would not be hard to build! And would match the piglets shelves! Thanks!

That's an awesome cage, but I'm not ready for that yet. I got a solid pine cabinet for $14 at a yard sale the other day that I think would make a great cage.I've already started on it and it's shaping up very nicely. Thanks for your ideas.

I looked for Melamine coated wood and the people at Home Depot said they only had it in small shelves, not even 2' x 2' pieces. I was pretty disappointed.

I've also got a pic of my cage on my website, if you'd like to see it. http://jade8130.tripod.com/chinkingdom Click on Housing A Chin at the top of the page to see it.
