Noelle is bleeding vaginally!
She may be pregnant, I am not 100% sure. She is bleeding very gradually but bleeding still. She doesn't seem to be in distress but when I put my hand in the cage she grunted at me and grabbed my hand with her front feet and scooted forward until her belly was resting on my fingertips (don't know if that is significant but she has never done that before)
Could she be having a miscarriage?

That's the problem. My vet's office isn't open at this time. The closest vet that even knows what chinchillas are is an hour drive away. I would think that by the time we get there whatever is happening would be over with. I guess for now I'll just keep an eye on her.

I guess I'll just keep a close eye on her tonight and take her in first thing in the morning.

Well, She's doing okay. The bleeding stopped earlier. I still want to take her in though. She hasn't expelled anything that might be a baby. I don't want this to remain a mystery.
I am DEAD tired. lol I called the vet and the receptionist (she knows me) was so kind to tell me so. The vet was busy with a complex surgury so she said she'd give him a message for me and have him call back later.

Well, I havn't heard back from them yet. I'm gonna give them another call. She's stopped bleeding and is acting normally now. Her tummy feels diferent though. More baggy. Not smaller, but softer. She hasn't expelled anything though. I've been watchin her.

She may have an uterine infection. I would recommend a vet visit regardless if the bleeding has stopped. |

She's acting normally. No bleeding since then. I'm calling the vet tomorrow (They never returned my call and they aren't open on Sundays) Maybe I can get some answers.

Finally heard from the vet. He said if she's acting normally and eating, drinking, pooping, and not bleeding anyhow that it might be better to just keep a close eye on her. He said if her eating, drinking, pooping drops off or she starts bleeding again to bring her in.
