Hi,
I read an article on another website about cleaning your cages. In this article, the author suggests using "Japlac", a non toxic paint, on your cage "to bring it back to the nice shiny clean wire, like it was when you first bought or made it". She says that it "acts like it is part of the original wire, so it is not like a seperate coat of paint that could peel off."
I wanted to pretty up my cages so I went looking for this stuff. I couldn't find it. Instead I bought "Rust-Oleum Cold Galvanizing Compound" at Lowes. This spray is for the recoating of galvanized steel. It says on the can, "unleaded - Safe for use on children's toys, furniture, etc."
Is this the same thing as Japlac? Does anyone know if it is safe? Actually, I'm not planning to do the
wire mesh of the cages, just the pans. I bought them used and there is some rust in the "potty corners". Does anyone have anyother suggestions what I could use or where I can find Japlac????
Thanks in advance!
