Warning on J-feeders

I was at the Chinbin site and under "other" at the bottom of the page was a warning on the j-feeders that I felt that I had to post here. It would be devestating to have this happen to our babies. Amy said it would be fine to post it but I couldn't cut and paste so here is the link.

What it was was a j-feeder that the chin got into upside down and got wedged in the feeding container and could not extricate himself. The chin died in this position and they are warning to hang the feeder on the outside of the cage and even with this to be careful as babies have been known to escape through the feeder to the outside of the cage.

Yes, this is pretty much a no-no in the chin world - part of the reason I developed the Hay Baskets - since they hang from the top of the cage, the chin can't get stuck or caught in them in any way.

OMG, makes me glad I use ceramic bowls . I thought of getting those J-feeders but hubby thought they were dangerous. Seems like he was correct on this one.

Possum thanks for posting this, I hope people take this seriously and remove the j-feeders from inside of their cages.
I feel for the owner that found her chin in this situation. This is so sad.
