1 ferrt + 1 ferret= 2 ferrets

Okay. You guys are not going to believe this. I don't believe this still myself. Last night the hubby and I were at a local petstore. (Not petco) and they had a really pretty ferret. her fur was really full and she was mostly white with some sliver in her. I guess she has been there a while and the manerger said he would go down on the price.
Well we had to go grocery shopping, and all through the store my hubby is like "I really want that ferret. She's so pretty, and Squishy needs a friend."
I had read more than once that ferrets need either another ferret to play with or a cat because they can get lonely.
I really didn't think we needed another one right away, but my hubby seemed like he really wantted her. Plus, I was afraid she would not get along with Squishy. But we ended up going back and we ended up bringing her home!
So now I have two. She doesn't have a name yet. We are still thinking of one for her. And her and Squishy have been playing all night and all day. Also, Squishy is still a kit, and is still kind of crazy, and this one is about 5 months old, and she's more mellow so maybe she can help keep Squishy in line.
I will try to get pics posted of the two trouble makers as soon as I can!

That is soo great! You are absolutely right 2 is always better than one (as long as you can provide the long term care needed & afford it) I can't wait to see pics!
She sounds like my Mojo... she is a silver mit. there is a thread with her picture in it (updated pictures).

Congrats & Merry Christmas!!

Well prior to getting my first ferret (a whole two weeks ago) I did do basic reasearch because I had heard that they could be more time comsuming and expensive than other pets. Everytime I went to Petco to get stuff for my tarantula's I would walk by the cage full of ferrets and I would always hold one, but I didn't want to buy one on a whim. I know all too often people end up with "novelty" pets and once that wears off, or they are no longer babies they end up neglected on in shelters.
I figured two is good. And just to think.. Squishy just got litter box trained and now I had to start the whole process over again.

You are so so right!! I can't wait to hear about how the 2 get along together! Any thoughts on the name for her yet?

Awwww, That's so cool. I had always heard that one ferret was fun, two was great, but three was the best... I miss our little ankle biters

We have not come up with a name yet. We are actually stumped. The hubby and I can't seem to agree on a good name. I was thinking, if this keeps up, we can name her "Noname" or "Nameless" . I'm sure we will think of something. And I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas today, and I hope that all of you don't have to go to work like me today!

And she has a name: Squeeker. The hubby thought of it. It was the only name we seemed to agree on. I hope we don't ever have kids-if it was this hard for us to name a new ferret, imagine the dramma we will have trying to name a kid. Yep, so it's Squishy and Squeeker. The two partners in crime!
