Argh, It's So Hot!!!

The heat has been awful the last few days. Our apt is very humid to begin with and we have no a/c to speak of. We have about 4 fans running, but it's not helping much. My poor weasel babies are not happy They are just flopping all over the place and making themselves look as pitiful as possible LOL
Here's some pics of Beau and how he's "coping"
First one is him laying upside down trying to keep cool

He's really cute! I'd probably go crazy if I didn't have A/C too.

yes, they have very few if any functional sweat glands. Anything over 75 degrees and they are very prone to heat exhaustion and/or heat stroke.

Just a hint....freeze a 2ltr bottle and cover it with a towel or shirt and put it in their cage. It will sweat and drip but the fuzzies will love it. That's how Stinky made it through a summer of 105-110 degree heat and Arkansas humidity with no A/C.

Another good way to beat the heat is to get a terracotta clay pot and put it in the freezer - not as much condensation and get one big enough that they can curl up in it. I actually got that idea from a chin owner on another list. You might want to get 2 or 3 that way when one warms up there is another one ready to go.
