Ferrets Safe On Plane - Paw Talk

Are ferrets safe to take on a plane? Would their ears pop/would they be in pain/any of that kind of thing? I'm flying home in a couple of weeks and need to bring them with me, but want to make sure they won't be in any pain if I can take them with me.

Their ears will defently not pop out... :blob4: How long is the flight taking? Just make sure that the travel cage is not covered with blankets, cause then he will roll in his own dirt. Place a hammock in the cage(this will also make the flight more plesant, thinking of the movements, like in a car)...A bottle with water, and a little plastic bowl attached under the bottle(the shaking may cause all the water dripping out of the bottle), and some food. I would cover the cage bottom with compact chip...this will absorb all of the urin and poop...

This should make the flight plesant and less stressed for the fert...

Also be sure to contact the airline you are using and ask them what their policy is on traveling with ferrets, they may or may not require a health certificate and shot records. Are you planning on having them fly below in the cargo section or are you going to try and carry on? The reason I ask that, is after my much research for transporting our zoo back to the states, it was said that ONLY 2 warm blooded animals can fly in the cabin and the owner may ONLY carry one animal on. This meaning out of all the people on the flight only 2 people can carry on 1 pet each.
Just check into the airlines policies and I'm sure you will be fin

And sometimes if you are having the animal IN the plane, you might have to pay the same price for the animals as your self...Be sure to check it out...call different airlines and ask for price and their policy of having pets with you in the plane or in the luggage...

Most of the time on domestic and international flights the cost of in cabin pets are usually from $75-$100 where as they can range from $100-$200 as "baggage"......
I know it only cost us $110 per kennel when we shipped the pets over here, it didn't matter on weight, that was through delta airlines, so the dog's were the same price as our cat was to fly as "baggage"
