I had a ferret several years ago when my kids were small and never knew alot about them.I have been going thru a few med books and ran across an interesting thing.
Ferrets can get heartworms and die from them just like dogs and cats.There is no signs to look for when they have them.

That makes me wonder how many other animals can get heartworms - since they come from infected mosquitos, it would seem most all little furries could get them.
These forums are great in that we can all share the little things like this that we learn.
