The Hedgehog Welfare Society is providing care packages to rescue hedgehogs, completely free of charge, thanks to our volunteers and sponsors.
CARE PACKAGES INCLUDE:
- 1 lb. each of L'Avian, Spike's Delite, and Select Diet hedgehog food (and other foods as available)
- assorted treats
- a handmade, vellux-lined hat
- a handmade, fleece-lined sleeping bag
NEED A CARE PACKAGE?
If you have rescued a hedgehog or know someone deserving who has, please drop our committee a line at
scpetrel@bellsouth.net and tell us about your hedgehog (including their gender!) and give us your mailing address. PLEASE make sure to let us know about your request off-list as Jennifer and I sometimes do not read every post on every list ... and we don't want to miss yours!
We support IHA and HWS sanctioned rescues as well as individuals who have adopted needy hedgehogs. The care package project is meant not only to provide needed supplies to rescue hedgehogs, but also to give a much-deserved "boost" to rescuers' spirits.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
- Do you have odd size or scrap pieces of vellux or other fabrics? If the pieces are 6"x6" or larger, we can use them to make hats and bags for needy rescue pogs.
- Do you have a few spare FoodSaver vacuum bags or a tube? We use them to prevent spoilage of foods.
- If you wish to contribute financially to help offset mailing and other expenses, rescues across North America will benefit.
