I did not know you could keep hedgehogs as pets.
Do they not have tons of fleas?
Can you keep them in England

They shouldn't have fleas at all - like any other pet shouldn't have fleas, but I'm sure it is possible for them to pick them up from their environment like any other animal.
I have no idea about the laws in England, maybe someone from there can shed some insight, but they have a native hedgehog species that is very different from the African pygmy variety that are typically kept as pets.

baby Hedgehogs
I live in the UK and seeing all these pictures of cute Hedgies makes me want to cry , I want a Hedgie too, but they are rare enough in the wild and Im sure they dont sell them in pet shops here, I have never seen Hedgies for sale here.

I did not think people kept them as pets in England.
When I was younger you used to see them all over and i used to just give them a little hold and they were swarming with fleas.
Now though you hardly see them except squashed

How adorable. Congratulations. My pinto just had 5 babies but they are only 6 days old. Soon, so very soon. You must be so thrilled to finally be able to play. How are they doing?

What a cutie. And I'm going to prove how dorky I am by saying that he reminded me of a tribble. I've never seen a baby hedgehog before, but he looks like quite a bundle of fun. ^^

That was a few months ago, they've all grown up now. I kept two females from the bunch, and sold the others. They're even bigger than momma, I think I've discovered a giant strain of the pygmy hedgehog. Need to get new pics... but here's something to tide you over.
