Size - Paw Talk

What's the average size for a hedgie? My hedgie seems kind of small compared to other hedgie pics I've seen. I'll try to get a new pic of Grover.

Around 400 grams. BUTTTTT-this is kind of misleading. Hedgies, like people come in ALL shapes and sizes. The important thing is that he is HEALTHY. If he is small and healthy that is MUCH better than a big hedgie who is very overweight. I have three hedgie, 1 VERY tiny, ~250 grams, another teeny around 290 grams and a big ole hedgie at 650 grams. All are a healthy weight for their size.

About 12 to 15 oz is where the majority are, but I've seen/heard reliable reports of healthy, not overweight or underweight adults at anything from 4-1/2 oz to 32 oz! There's a lot of natural variation!

my poor baby has watery eyes and I noticed he has a possible ear fungus......we're off to the vet in the morning (just wanted to let everyone know that I DID notice his eyes

He looks pretty average sized, if your hands are average sized!

Thanks for the replies.......I've seen other hedgie pics and they seemed alot bigger than Grover. I thought I was doing something wrong and stunted his growth. LOL I feel better now!
