Where do you get one? - Paw Talk

I've been wondering this, because I am planning on getting one (actually I'm planning on getting alot of pets), but I have no idea where to get one. Can you only get them online? Because I never see them at PETCO, or anything like that.

We have an exotics petstore that has them. I'd try the smaller stores. Maybe look through the phonebook and call all the petstores within an hour or two from where you live. I did that when I was looking for newts.

Please do a lot of research to make sure that a hedgehog is the pet for you. I would also recommend getting your hedgehog from a breeder rather than a petstore.

At the top of the page they have a list of breeders in each state which are recommended by people that have dealt with them.
We have had 4 hedgehogs in the past and I know pretty much about them, so if you have any specific questions I'd be happy to help.

Yes,definatly research,research and research first! Not all pets will suit all people.

If you want to find a hedgie,look for a reputable breeder.Often pet stores know nothing about exotic animals and therefore you don't know what you will end up dealing with.

I got my hedgie from a V.I.Pets. They take good care of their animals. I dont know if you have one near you. But again lots of research!Good luck!
