Dog Kibble

I'm using a new dog kibble...puppy/performance lamb and rice kibble.

Small amount for breakfast and the odd couple for a treat during the day. It has alfalfa in the ingredients, not much...this is ok whilst a pd is under 6 months, yes?

Dog food for prairie dogs? Hmmm...I didn't know that! Is that the only thing you feed them?

I have subscribed to this thread in order to learn about PDs as I might be interested in adopting one in the future...

Feeding a decent dog kibble adds extra protein to the diet of a young pd, about a tablespoon full per day but you cease to give this beyond the age of about 6 months. My Rosie will not pleased when she doesn't get her kibble breakfast..she looks forward to breakfast time and this is when she is well-behaved.

I give mine a piece or two of Fit and Trim dog food for treats every once in awhile. They LOVE it!

I'll have to find something else for Rosie for her breakfast once she's oldrer...she'll throw her poops at me otherwise..she'll never be happy with just hay..oooh, I can just see her face on a morning, she'll report me to animal welfare for neglect. lol
