Hello just found this great site! I have been looking for a prairie dog for so long now, but with no luck. So I have done a lot of researching! I was wondering if anyone in ONT Canada had one for sale or adoption. Sex and age do not matter to me, as long as it is socialized. I will take in a rescue as well. I have been very interested in these amazing little animals and would love to have one as a pet. I have had lots of pet experience including hedgehogs, various small animals, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, dogs, cats, and lots of other wonderful little creatures. Please reply if you could help me out with finding a pd. Thank you so much, and what a great forum!

I don't know of anyone close to you with pd's but I will definitely keep my eyes open for ya! I'm trying to see if they're legal in Ontario and I haven't found anything regarding that yet.

Yes they are legal, they sell them in pet shops, but only rarely. I have seen people's websites with them in Ontario, so they are in no way illegal. Canada doesn't have such strong laws against exotics like the States, there you can't have certain animals in certain states... I can think of California not allowing hedgehogs. Don't know why, but it's pretty weird. No laws like that here

I would also be very interested in rescues. I will pay shipping. My home is open for one or two of these adorable critters. Please keep me in mind if you have a poor little pd in need of a home, he would be cared for well and loved all the time. Thanks!

At the top of the page, click forum, you will see Welcome Kritter_keeper with your avatar(picture that you have on the left hand of the screen), then under your avatar it says, Private messages, click that and it should go to your inbox.

Also try going to www.betsycc.com She gets captured pups from Lynda Watson and might be able to help you contact someone closer to you.

Here's a site I stumbled upon when I was looking for a ferret... check periodically with them? I know they do have baby pds on there nor but I believe it was here in the states.
