As someone (obviously younger than I) told me today, this generation was raised on video and computer games. What they are doing and playing means nothing to it; they don't think in terms of reality. It's "only a game".

I don't mean to be crass or sound unfeeling, but does anyone feel bad when they play "Wop a Mole" at Chuckie Cheese?

i can see how it would upset ppl, but it looks as though its a pretty standard style video game. like the old duck hunt, but more graphic....when i was younger i used to have one of those game for super nintendo that used the special bazooka. it came with two games on one cartridge. one was yoshi's safari...which i don't really remember what the point was. the other was called mole patrol. i used to love mole patrol. you shot them as they popped up out of the ground and it kept tally of how many you hit. i used to keep score on a pad somewhere, trying to beat my record. i stopped playing the day i actually read the directions, b/c according to them you blew up their hearts when you shot them.

Liz- I didn't comb through it, but most of what I saw was text. Somebody else could probably tell you more.

But as DragonMaster said, we've always had games of that sort and maybe that is why parts of our society are so mean. But what can you do? As long as there is a demand, someone will supply.

Even when I was a kid they had arcade games where you shot at things (well, I didn't 'cause the sound scared me-I'm a wimp).

I never really liked the violent games either. My brother liked to practice pest control though and I had to put up with him shooting animals I thought didn't deserve it. Fortunately he turned out okay. He is happily married, went on a mission trip to Sudan, Africa, and will soon graduate with his masters in intemology.

This is pretty sick.

It's just as sick as the real bubbas who think that a fun family picnic is to teach the kids to shoot pds as they pop out of the nest. Springs Family Fun. How many pups die because Mom is killed for fun?

Sad thing is - for every piece of cr*p someone makes/sells - there is a buyer.

Cool

I know what you mean about peoply buying. Bubba had to drag me out of a store in Gatlinburg, TN, once because I realized that the 'coon skin caps they had on display weren't fake but actually made from raccoons. I was going to go after the store manager but Bub grabbed me and I left the store babbling and bawling about how anybody could do that to such sweet animals.

I dont see anything wrong with it. I play deer hunter , I play bounty hunter(varmit hunter, yes there are praire dogs, rabbits, Coyote ect), I play duck and bird hunter, and fishing games. I dont find it sick- its just a game. What I do find gross is the REAL thing. I'll stick to my computer games, and this way- i'm not hurting LIVE animals. Just animated ones .

I can never understand why it would be fun to play a game that would involve killing animals, yes it's only again, but still, what is the attraction of simulating death of animals?

I don't understand the mentality that goes along with killing animals - unless you kill for food and not for sport. The games are no biggie to me, but then I'm not a game player. . ..

You're also hearing from someone who doesn't understand the point of swimming (fear of water). Yes, I know for survival - I'm not crazy. Just making the point that not everybody likes the same things!

What about games that kill people? Ray plays some computer game where he has to crawl around and shoot spies etc.- but it is just a game. He values human life still and would never kill an ACTUAL person because he plays it.

I have for purposes of money or lack of desire to keep a character killed people in my Game the Sims, put people in the pool and taken the ladder out(and then they swim until they drown)-yet I wouldn't kill anyone in real life.

I loved duck hunt, and yet have never hunted or anything like that............
