Weights

I'ill be weighing my Rosie this evening and I just know she's going to be less than last time... last time she was one and a half pounds ... she's definately lost weight, you can see just by looking at her although no bones showing or anything but she is very small.

She's nearly a year old, female and not spayed ... she eats well and is the same naughty, mischievious little girl she has always been.

Once Rosie hit about 6 months of age, I took away her puppy kibble which, she got every morning... she was big and cuddly but not fat... now she is small and almost baby like?

She is given hay every day... she is never without hay although it is always Oxbow Tim hay.

She has a breakfast every morning consisting of bunny basics T or horse rolled oats... sometimes she may get both at the same time but, only very small amounts.

She gets veg every week 2/3 times - it depends.

She gets a bite sized shreddies every day although not all at once. lol

She sometimes gets a finger nail size of a dog biscuit once a week.

She has had teeny cheerios although I do prefer to give her bitesized shreddies.

She should have stored fat for late summer, she hasn't... she's in a warm house.

What can I do to improve on the weight? I will let you know what she weighs, later.

Umm... Rosie isn't in the mood to be weighed - basically, she just won't let me weigh her... short of tying her to the scales bowl, nothing I can do about it for the moment *sigh* some women are a bit funny about their weight, yanno She slaps my hand away and chatters at me so, scales are out for now *nodding*

I love her sooooooooooooooooooooo much

Wendy, when I have chins like that I tare the scale with a tupperware container (large) on it, then put the chin in the container with a lid. Makes them rather mad, but it does the job.

If I did that to my pds, I'd be missing a few fingers after I took the lid off of the container.

I know how Rosie feels, I hate scales too!

Wendy did she put weight on in the fall? Maybe she is getting ready for breeding season?
Mine all go up and down and the girls stay slimmer then the boys.I am sure she is fine.
You may want to take her and have her teeth checked just in case.

Right... I weighed my Rosie this morning... oooh she's such a love... anyway, she is 1 pound & 11 ounces - now, this weight tells me she has actually put on a little weight since her last weigh in - she is very small and to look a her, you would not think she had put on any weight.

So, as of today... I mist Monday ... Rosie will get a very small amount of dog kibble every 'other' morning for breakfast - the days she gets this, she will get no horse oats or bunny basics T... normally she gets these for breakfast everyday, one or other, sometimes both... amounts reduced accordingly! I will also increase her fresh veggies... She will be weighed everyday (lol - if she allows it). I will do this for the next two weeks and see if there is any improvement - obviously the kibble will be removed after this time whatever her weight.

Rosie will of course still get hay but I will reduce her treats of mini shredded wheat, just for the next two weeks so I'm not over doing it, what with the kibble, yanno.

I can waffle on, yanno

Rosie is eating her hay at the moment and everytime I look at her she stops to send lovey stares at me... she loves me so much but, I love her too
