Question

sugar glider cage

I am thinking about building a new cage for Kaleb and am not sure where to start looking for ideas. What is the ideal size for a cage? The cage he is in now is 17" wide x 17" long x 22" tall. This is the cage that he was in when I got him. I can't make a cage too wide because it won't fit through my bedroom door to bring it out to clean. I was thinking just to make it taller with more levels for him to play on and climb around in. I would also like to put it on something with wheels to make it easier to move. Any help would be appreciated.

YOu definately need to get him a bigger cage. All my pairs are in cages 32x22x37 and I would recommend something around that size or possibly a little smaller.

Hi Desiree!
For cages, the bigger the better. Gliders can get supressed and depressed in small cages, they can also get chubby too

here are some links you can check out for help at home building your cages:

Klubertanz is where most glider owners buy there cage supplies for homebuilding:
http://www.klubertanz.com/

Martin's cages also carries Vinyl coated wire:
http://www.martinscages.com/

here's a link to WSGN regarding Glider habitats:

I hope that helps post if you have any more questions!
