ok so i found a chipmunk just as i was getting home today, he looked as if he was injured, just laying on the ground next to my porch. when i took him to the vet he was all clear, he said maybe something just shocked him or something. so now i have this chipmunk (he seems to really like me) should i release him back into the wild again or keep him until he regains confidence?
Since it hasnt been domesticated I would release it into the wild but since you say it likes you it may come back to your garden, theres no harm in giving it treats or food if it does but forcing it to stay indoors after it came from the wild would be cruel. Lol, remake alvan and the chipmunks to evan and the chipmunks
If he's not injured, release him. I don't understand what you mean by regaining his confidence. He has instincts and behaviors he's learned to use to survive. You keeping him only diminishes his chances for survival.
