Characteristics
Eastern chipmunks have reddish-brown fur on their backs and sides and white fur on their stomachs. They have two white stripes bordered by black on their sides and one black stripe on the center of their backs. They have light strips above and below their eyes. Eastern chipmunks have pouched cheeks that they use to store and carry food.
