Flying Squirrel adoption question

I've been looking for a flying squirrel - and two people have contacted me about theirs. They both have two males available. One of them is really far from where I live ... and one is fairly close - but her's are 4 months old. How hard would it be for me to bond to a squirrel that has lived with someone else for so long? I'll probably just get one because of the bonding issue - I'm afraid that if I had two they would not bond with me.

If anyone has flying squirrels and has any pointers, I'd really appreciate it.

You definetly want one much younger than 4 months. When I had a flyer I got it at 10 weeks and wished I purchased it younger. If you can't find one now, wait until you find a quality breeder who can get you a young one.

Also, especially in Texas, watch out for people who capture wild babies or sell "hand fed" babies... instead of *bottle fed* babies. A cheap flyer is not nessacerily a quality pet!
