Just thought I would share with everyone here on the board. I picked up my Richardson Ground Squirrel last night.
His name is Augsburg, he is about a year old.

Some of the things he eats are broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. He also eats Primate bicsuits, lab blox, and zoofare.
Yes, he is socialable. He crawled into my shirt a few times. My kids have held him with no problem. But he does not like my hubby. LOL
They are similar to a prairie dog.

Awww what a doll! I just saw an ad for black eyed white PD and am interested. Do you know of a site that has good info on the RGS?

I seen ads yesterday as well for White Prairie Dogs, I believe it was somewhere in North Carolina, they are very pretty aren't they? I think they were somewhere around $500.00 a piece.

A friend gave him to me she got him from a breeder in West Virginia. I think they were $150.00 each.

I got both of my PD's at www.animalsexotique.com I highly recommend them. I got my black tailed female and my black eyed white PD male. They are wonderful and have the greatest personalities! They also sell Richardson Ground Squirrels and have an info page about them. Cliff the owner of Animals Exotique is great he will bend over backwards for the customer and always there for customer support. The previous owner of A.E. was no good. But now Cliff bought the company! He has worked with Exotic Animals for 20 years, so he knows his stuff. They are now located in Pearland, Texas.

Oh he has been coming around, he is tame. It just took him a while to warm up to us because he was scared of us. But now he is wonderful! He is 8 months old.

did they ship him to you or did u pick him up?i talk to the man that has them he has 3 boys left..and will take 450.00for one

Well for this PD I had a friend that picked him up. But my first one I got shipped for $120.00. $450 is a great price, you should take it! the only reason they are that cheap is because they are like 8 months old. Babies are $800.00!
