help please =[

okayyyy so i know that i post lots of replies to questions about how great flying squirrels are as pets, but i need help this time . my flying squirrel won't run on his wheel and i am afraid that he isn't getting enough exercise. he is out of his cage atleast 3-4 hours a day with me and my sister, but every website says that wheels are still very important. he has an 11" transonic wodent wheel, and it isn't getting caught on the cage or anything. he goes and sits in the wheel, but doesn't run. ahh!

Do you think he knows how to use the wheel? Maybe he never had one before and just hasen't figured out how to use it yet?

Depending on his age it may take him a few months to learn how to use it - he should become interested in it probably around 6 months old.
