Question

Bunny Help Please

I have a five month old holland mini lop that recently got neutered. He has been litter trained since we got him at about 10 weeks old. The week before he got neutered he started emptying his bladder on my daughters bed and on my side of the bed. Since his operation he has twice more peed on my daughters bad. Why is he doing this? And how can I get him to stop? Please any advice would be appreciated.

Hmm it may be as simple as he can smell where he has peed before so he is going there again. I know you would have washed the sheets and all, but is there any way the smell could still be lingering? Rabbits will go where they can smell that they have been before you see. He may have been marking by spraying before was neutered and now he can still smell it. If you see what I mean?

Maybe if you put a litter pan in the bedroom and put some of his litter from his cage in it, he will smell himself in that and use that. Might take time and patience.

Good Luck

Catherine

Catherine had great advice! It also takes about 4 weeks for their bad behaviours to stop after they have been neutered so don't stress too much just yet if it hasn't been that long. If all else fails keep him out of that room for about a month....he should have forgotten about the bed by that time!

Thankyou for the advice. We have since moved him to another room. It hasn't even been 2 weeks since he was neutered so I'am hoping his bad litter habits will stop. Does anyone else let their rabbits run free in the house?

catherine has a great idea, and i agree rsbunny as well. i got my boy bunny neutered because he kept humping my girl bunny's head. it took a few weeks for him to calm down and stop humping her after his operation. so basically, all you need is to give some time and a great amount of patience.
