Cinnamon Bunny

Had rescued a sweet little bunny a week ago, and according to the place I rescued her from I had no choice but to allow them to spay her. Well now a week later, she is hopping to deaths door and has me absolutly devastated! Anyone getting a bunny spayed... I beg of you make SURE the person who does it KNOWS what they are doing and KNOW rabbits! Even if you have to pay more, even if you have to drive further.... PLEASE I BEG of you to make sure they have a clue! These people said they had a clue, but I found out the hard way how wrong that comment was! They sent home NO pain meds, and refused any after care pain meds. This was Thursday of last week she got done. Friday I had to take her back because of bleeding from her vulva. Not liking what they were saying, I finally brought her to my own vet! We leve with pain meds and anti-biotics. Over the weekend, my sweet little ball of fur stops eating completely! Monday another call to my vet, we have her on critical care.....Now here we are on Tuesday with her BACK at the vet without the use of one of her back legs! She is STILL not eating, but drinking water on her own. Even the vet is not optimistic about my baby Cinnamon. Looks very much like we will lose her. My heart is totally broken. I did what I thought was the right thing at the time and rescued her from being put to sleep, only to end up possibly killing her myself because of my lack of education and my trust in other people with my baby girl. I took her out of a "bad" situation, only to have her in a worse situation.

So PLEASE research research research..... KNOW what YOU are talking about.... KNOW your bunny! Ask the questions... do not be afraid to ask... because it's the life of your fur baby we are talking about here! Send prayers and well wishes to Cinnamon that she will survive this ordeal and live a long happy life full of nose rubs and binkies! Also pray that if she is not meant to stay with this world, that she goes quickly and painlessly!!!

i am so sorry to hear that Cinnamon isn't imroving! but i think you should keep your hopes up and believe in that she will pull through, especially if the vet said she might

i also think you shlouldn't beat yourself up over this situation. you did what you thought was right in spaying Cinnamon. i would have done the same. plus, she very well might be just fine after she gets thouroughly medicated and time heals her wounded area. spayings are very traumatic to these little female animals. i lost a female rat to bad spaying experience a couple years back and it really did break my heart too. So, just hang in there - and me and my buns will be praying for you and yours.
