When i go to the veggie market I always ask for the carrot tops they cut off for people. Then I get free veggies for my bunnies

Two of my three rabbits really like them, but the third one goes for the greens first and eats the carrot last.

I just noticed that I never answered this thread.

Flash LOVES carrots. Those are his treat that he gets when he goes in his cage at the end of play time. All I have to do is wave a carrot in front of his face, and he runs for the cage, because he knows he has to be in there to get it. That's why I don't give him carrots in with his greens for dinner - I save them to use as a treat.

both my girls love the carrots-they usually eat them first unless there's a tastier fruit on top,yum-yum! i tried buying the fresh carrots with tops included and although the actual carrot is sweeter than packaged ones my sweeties got offended by the huge bucnh of greens chasing them as they tried to flick out the carrots.

My bunny prefers sweet stuff like bananas and watermelon. What a spoiled little bun
Oh and yes she does eat em but they're not her favorite.

I was chopping up some baby carrots in half for me/degus and I decided to let my two buns try a piece. My bunny gobbled it up so fast. xD Basil just sniffed it, nibbled a few times, and left it.
I had also chopped up a couple little squares of a red pepper I was eating a few days ago, Basil ran the second she sniffed it. xD My bun didn't care for it.

I give my rabbits carrots.. They just come give some small sniff and pretend it is not even there.

They only like carrots which have been grated and served like salad

I think Flash would hate that. For him, half the fun is that the carrots are big enough that he has to work to tear them apart to eat them. It's kind of like his fixation with large, immovable toys that are a major project for him to work on tearing apart for hours, while he ignores anything light enough for him to move.

My two rabbits love carrots. I used to give them one large carrot everyday from the farmers market with the green tops still attatched and they loved it. I recently heard that carrots are actually more of a treat to rabbits and not something they should eat to much of.

I've since cut back and I give them a baby carrot when they've been good. One thing they can have alot of though is the greens on the tops of the carrots. I went to my local farmers market and it turned out that they were throwing away the greens to the tops of the carrots. So I asked if I could have them and they gave me 2 bags full of greens it was great!
