help, bunny ear sores?


this morning while feeding and playing with the rabbit a bit i noticed two small sores in one of his ears, looks almost like a vampire bit him. the other ear has a few red marks as well. ive no clue what there from. could this be ear mites? or something else?

nope just him, ive been unable to find any solid information on ear mites, got any good links?

i dont think ear mites would look like that at all.
how about fleas? check her for fleas, or flea "dirt" (flea poop)
i'll look for some links

does it look like he might have just scratched himself too hard?
if they don't go away in the next day or two, or if you see anymore spots like those, i'd take him to the vet

to save from having to pay for the visit just take him to get his claws clipped and casually ask the vet to take a look (a good vet will happily oblige and would examine the ears, teeth, etc. anyway)
then if it's something parasitic they'll prescribe you something on the spot - it may be as easy as just putting ointment on the sores
