You should take her to the vet. About her ribs... Are they totally sticking out or can you only feel them a little bit when you run your fingers against her side? Its normal to be able to feel their ribs and backbones because rabbits at a good weight dont have too much body fat, but they shouldnt stick out. I hope she gets better.

I'm not sure that the cat shampoo had anything to do with anything, but I would certainly get her to a vet that knows bunnies and have her checked out. Good luck to you and your bun!

I cannnot imagine that the cat shampoo would be that awful. Definitely take her to the vet if she is having rabid weight loss.
Keep us posted.

How long ago did you give her the bath? What kind of cat shampoo was used and did you make sure it was all washed out? What do you mean by "her fur is like a cats"??

What are you feeding her? Is she eating?

How much weight do you think she's lost? And in what time frame, a couple of days, weeks, months? Does she have any other symptoms such as fur loss or a change in personality?

How old is she? Is she spayed?

If she isn't eating, or is eating very little, and/or has rapid weight loss, you should definatly take her in to a vet and see what they say.

Good luck!

a mild cat shampoo is fine for bunnies, although baths are not a great thing and should only be given sparingly. Sounds like something else is going on, a vet visit is probably necessary.

well the shampoo name is premium select cat shampoo it says shed control it helps control excess hairballs

on the back it says "the ultimate in pet grooming care. Our unigue formula of moisturizers and conditioners helps maintain your cats healthy skin and coat. And our long lasting fragrance leaves coats smelling clean and fresh longer"

she is eating normale and she is not spayed i was planing to do that soon she isnt a year yet this has been going on for a week or 2 and she usually weighs 4-5lbs she is small but she probbly only weighs 2lbs at the most 3lbs. it looks like she has pups cuz wen i saw her one night the next she was skinny but i dont have her with the male and i havent scense i got them. i never saw pups though

I don't think that it's the cat shampoo that is causing the problems unless you think she could have been allergic to it - but even then I would expect to see irritated skin, fur loss, stuff like that. It could be possable that she injested some and it make her sick but I don't know how likely that would be, as others had said I think cat shampoo is usually fine for rabbits. However, I wouldn't bathe her often because it can really stress them out.

If she is eating normally and still losing weight I would say definatly take her to the vet. Maybe she has some kind of parasite or something. Is she still pooping normally? Does it look like she lost body weight, or could it just be that she shed a lot of fur and looks smaller?

Rabbits should never take a bath, like cats they clean themselfs. I know from expience I gave my first rabbit a bath and she got really sick, then i learned from my vet. Funny that we never learn these things until after the fact. If you feel your baby is diry use waterless shampoo and a good slicker brush. I hope your bunny gets to feelin' better. Maybe even see a vet if no improvement..................in my prayers I will remember your bun.......Tara
