litter

What kind of litter does everyone use?
I use feline pine. It works well and keep the urine odor down. I also dump the boxes every day. The smaller box twice a day.
Poor kitties wish their boxes were cleaned out that often.

I use pine pellets that can also be used as Stove Pellets, for $4 for 35lbs you can't go wrong.

I use Yesterday's News now. I used to use aspen which worked well but YN works even better . Much easier to clean and doesn't smell.

I use aspen and I cover it with some newspaper and then some hay that I get real cheap by the bale. I can pick up the soggy newspaper with the hay and toss it as many times a day as I wish and I don't go through so much aspen. This method works for me and keep the price down.

I toss out the paper. I often toss the dirty hay in my yard and run over it with the mulching lawnmower and it makes good fertilzer, and I use the aspen as mulch around my flowers.

I use a wood pellet litter....beauticat or pettex..and then i add a deep layer of soft beding straw called russell rabbit bedding..and then the pile of hay at one end..and i make sure the pile of straw etc is higher at the back as bertie loves to overshoot!!

Over here we dont have as much stuff as you guys seem to have..ive seen some bunny toys website etc and wow!!

We do have cheaper wood pellets ie supermarkets own ect but they really do not last as well..a few tinkles and its sandy textured!

i did try this stuff called MEGAZORB and its popular with horse owners for bedding on the floor area..it reeks something aw ful..like someones jock strap id imagine..its prety foul..yeah no wee smells..just the revolting pong of the stuff!!

Our buns use paper-based litter - I think that's safest for them given their penchant for nibbling at it...!
