Lots of shedding - bad sign?

Hi everyone. My Ceili has been shedding a lot lately. It started about half a year ago, then it was less, and now she's losing a lot of fur again. Also, she was spayed last May, but her fur still hasn't grown back fully where the incision was made. She has had to go on antibiotics three times already, and she's only 11 months old. Could it be that they messed up her system somehow?
A lot of fur = a good handfull every time I brush her. I barely get anything out of Ronan, so that's why I'm worried.

Hello

i think it depends on the rabbit. some shed more than others. plus they all shed something like 4 times a year but i could be wrong on that. some shedding seasons are more drastic and noticeable than others.

i have two female dwarf rabbits who both shed differently. one is fluffier and sheds like crazy especially in the fall. the other one has a shorter more velvety coat and her shedding isn't as bad. she loses hair in patches though and looks silly for awhile until it grows back in.

however- if your rabbit has health problems from her spay you may want to bring her to a vet just in case. cause i'm not sure if hair loss is a sympton of something else? but it definatley could just be her particular shedding pattern.

Like Fane81 said, she might just have a different shedding pattern.

I had a Polish who would never shed at all really...and now my brother has one who sheds alot. All our rabbits are different.

But, if you're worried, you could take her to the vet to be sure .

My rabbits are shedding right now too. They're both shedding the most near the tail area. Charlie seems to shed year round and she is basically healthy, or doesn't have anything wrong in relation to shedding. All bunnies shed differently.

Mine shed like crazy last Spring as the temps got warmer. He has just just a little bit this past month; I don't know why. He lives indoors.

Thanks for your replies, guys. I guess I shouldn't worry.
Wierd with the hair not growing back after the spay though...it's sort of growing back in patches now, 7 month later. I wonder why it takes so long...

Ok, I was relieved for a while, but today when I was brushing Ceili I got so much hair out of a few areas that now she has little bald spots....is that still ok?
