I have mixed feelings about this. I am so glad to be getting it done to stop all the hormonal behaviour that has been going on in this house with those two (which includes Shadow soraying everything in sight...including her own cage...and yes she is female!!! She lived with a male until she was 7 months old with no fighting so she can't be a he!) but of course they are my babies going to have an operation and I will be thinking of them all day long. I rang up two different vets...the RSPCA who did Rodger and did a brilliant job and who I trust very much and the vet hospital that I applied for a job at (recommended to me by the RSPCA as another option) who also specialize in
exotic animals. There was a $AU90 difference for each bunny so an $AU180 difference between the two all up!!! Now I want the best for my babies and if that was the price I had to pay to make sure the job was done properly I'd pay it but they both have the same success rates and the RSPCA allows me to take them home the same day whereas the other vets wanted me to keep them there overnight. So while I believe that the vets I'm applying for a job at would do a great job I think they are slightly money hungry as they have just renovated their hospital so I guess they need to pay for it somehow right!lol
I'll keep you updated on my girls....i think the trip down will be the most interesting....trying to keep them seperated so they don't fight and then smelling shadow's urine the whole way as well!
