Molly and Shadow get spayed tomorrow!

I have mixed feelings about this. I am so glad to be getting it done to stop all the hormonal behaviour that has been going on in this house with those two (which includes Shadow soraying everything in sight...including her own cage...and yes she is female!!! She lived with a male until she was 7 months old with no fighting so she can't be a he!) but of course they are my babies going to have an operation and I will be thinking of them all day long. I rang up two different vets...the RSPCA who did Rodger and did a brilliant job and who I trust very much and the vet hospital that I applied for a job at (recommended to me by the RSPCA as another option) who also specialize in exotic animals. There was a $AU90 difference for each bunny so an $AU180 difference between the two all up!!! Now I want the best for my babies and if that was the price I had to pay to make sure the job was done properly I'd pay it but they both have the same success rates and the RSPCA allows me to take them home the same day whereas the other vets wanted me to keep them there overnight. So while I believe that the vets I'm applying for a job at would do a great job I think they are slightly money hungry as they have just renovated their hospital so I guess they need to pay for it somehow right!lol
I'll keep you updated on my girls....i think the trip down will be the most interesting....trying to keep them seperated so they don't fight and then smelling shadow's urine the whole way as well!

I'll be saying bunny prayers for the spaying to go well for Molly and Shadow. Let us know how they are when you bring them home tomorrow.
And yeah Deja, hurry up and give the url so we can see pics of these beauties.

Ok well my babaies are home!!! (this thread was actually started yesterday so tomorrow is now today!) Molly seems to be in a bit of pain (grinding her teeth) but apart from that they are both fine and quite alert to their surroundings too. They both have staples in which can be removed in 10 to 14 days and their wounds look very neat. Now will be the wait for them to have something to eat and drink but if they don't do that until tomorrow I won't be worried! I think Shadow will be a problem cause she has already been running around her cage (and it's restricted room in there too while she's sick!)

Well shadow has eaten and had some fluids but Molly is refusing to eat right now but is very alert and looks healthy. I'll keep a close on her and if she hasn't eaten by tomorrow I'll check back with the vet!

Well they're getting back to normal! They haven't eaten as much as they usually do but they have both eaten and had a drink so that suits me fine! I know it will take them a few days to get back to normal. Molly was chewing the bathroom cabinet again this morning so I'm no longer worried about her!! hopefully her hormones will settle soon so we can have some furniture left!
