She keeps working the collar off. It seems to be difficult for them to eat with it on and it catches on everything. It is too cute when she is trying to groom herself. She is licking away on the cone trying to wet her paws and then rubbing her face. The video shows up darker here than on camera...sorry.

When we picked Molly up from the hospital she had a pucker in her stitching. Over a couple of days this pucker became bigger. I wasn't sure if her stitches looked right so I made an appointment to have them checked. Unfortunately a bunny doctor was not in but the vet on duty looked at the incision and thought there was some bruising and maybe one stitch was out. He put her on baytril and a washing solution to clean the incision and wanted her collar on 24/7 until her doctor can see her on Saturday. The lump seems to have gotten smaller however there are two more squishy spots puffing up. She seems comfortable and is eating and pooping well but she cannot eat her cecal poops so she has been leaving very sticky messes in her cage and all over her cone. She needs a good foot scrub but thankfully her incision has escaped the messes. I am hoping tomorrows vet visit will turn out fine.

Aww poor Molly.

Did they give her actual stiches? I think some rabbits vets stopped giving rabbits normal stiches because it's so common for them to try to pull them out. Apparently they can use internal stiches, then some kind of sergical glue to close the incision on the outside. At least that's what I heard, I haven't had any actual experience with it.

Good luck to her at the vet apt. today! I hope everything goes well.

I couldn't see any stitches personally. They said they were dissolving stitches and they did use some surgical glue. There was a scab on her belly in the middle of the incision that the doctor worked off to take a better look. She put on some more glue and was not concerned about anything. Everything looked fine. We will finish off her baytril medicine and she doesn't think that the cone is necessary any longer. Yay!!!!!!!!!!

She chewed all the glue off. She looked a little red. The freedom from the cone was short lived...at least for night time.

When Hoddy Toddy was neutered they used internal stitches that dissolve over time and then surgical glue on the outside incision. He didn't chew at it, though. The vet told me to keep a close eye on him but he seemed pretty out of it and mopey for the next couple of days.
