Please... I don't want baby bunnies

I recently adopted 2 bunnies & the woman getting rid of them said they would be okay in the same cage until 4 months. They are currently just over 8 wks ols. I [lanned on getting the boy bunny neutered at 4 months.

But... last night the male bunny started trying to mate with the female bunny!!!!! My question is - how early could a female get pregnant?

I seperated the bunnies last night, but I am worried the damage may be done.

Any advice or experience would be appreciated.

Andrea

I think 8 weeks is too young for your female to get pregnant. I don't know how old my rabbits were when I got them, but I would guess they were close to 5 months. They mated and then I seperated them. My female went through a false pregnancy, she made a nest and everything, but no babies ever appeared. Your rabbits should be just fine unless someone lied to you about their age.
