Rabbit Neuter

WE had a rabbit come into work today for a neuter.I ask the vet if I could watch. It was really cool.I also didn't realize that a rabbit can eat before surgery.I figured all pets were not allowed food so many hours before surgery due to vomiting.I found out today that rabbits don't get sick like everything else.

Cool

I don't believe I ever actually saw a rabbit neutor, but isn't it a bit different from a dog or cat where there "male parts" are a bit more obvious? For some reason I have it in my mind that it is a bit more involved surgery on bunnies......

No Critter very simple surgery. They had to use gas to put it to sleep while surgery was done. They shaved carefully around the area and the vet made one cut and was able to get them both thru the tiny cut.A rabbit is farther up than a cat or dog.Very cool procedure to watch.I got to take my digi cam in a start taking pics of some of the surgeries.
