Thanks everyone!
Smudge is fine, and the surgery went great... He got to come home early! Ive given him lots of yummies, and hes pretty much back to his normal self, and hes eating and pooping just fine. Everyone at the vets loved him, and thought he was really sweet!
It was really sad when they drew blood though, because they had a hard time finding his vien and they had to poke around his neck alot, but he was really good and hardly even squirmed. I admit that I got a little light headed though!
And guess what? My vet said that I could come back to observe/"shadow" him! Im really excited, because I want to be an exotic vet too some day, and most places dont let you observe untill your older!
Im just so glad I went through with this and got it over with, even if it ended up being $362! Its totally worth it. And in a 2 weeks, Smudge can go to "Hoppy hour" (pretty much a big play time that usually has around 50 other rabbits) and agility at one of the shelters! Hes gonna have SO much fun!

Thanks everyone!
Smudge is so weird... I gave him his Metacam and Baytril (sp?), and he acually hated the Baytril! Its supposed to be fruity flavored so small animals will like it, but I guess Smudge is just too picky
And his surgery site and the place where his cist used to be look great. No drainage, swelling, bleeding or anything.

Barnaby and Zeus both hate/hated Baytril as well, even though my vet also flavors it for them. I have heard that it tastes very bitter, so maybe the fruity flavoring doesn't completly cover up the bad taste.
Glad to hear that he's doing well! He should be all healed up in no time

Thanks for the update, Jess.
I have been lucky Tabby loved her metacam and baytril - Teddy loves them too! Penelope kinda likes them. And thankfully I have not had to give anything to Ollie or Ophelia.
Maybe Smudge will learn to aquire a taste for it? Teddy had to do that. After he did I called him and showed him the syringe and he came right over for it! I hope that Smudge will do that for you too!

My degu wasn't a fan of baytril at all . However, my rabbits actually loved it! Our vet gives us grape flavored.

Do most rabbits get Baytril after a spay/neuter? The two fosters I brought in last year didn't get anything, and my Honey is being neutered at the same place next Thursday.

That's what I need to know - so we need to make sure after our rabbits have their surgery they need to be prescribed a pain killer and an antibodic?

Baytril or another antibiotic should be prescribed after they are fixed, to help prevent your bun buns from getting an infection. Pain killers are a must too, so your rabbit isnt as stressed out.
Haha, the last 2 days Smudge has been aweful about the Baytril- he has a little fit, and whimpers (not kidding) when I finally get it in his mouth! And by the time Im done, his face and neck are stained bright pink, so I call him my Energizer Bunny! On my last attempt to get him to eat it today, he gave up and just let me squirt it in his mouth. Hes so silly.

All of our rabbits get antibiotics post-neuter, although every vet has a preferred antibiotic. Our vet uses Bactrim instead of Baytril as it seems to be better tolerated overall and less likely to cause GI upset (some specific animals are very intolerant of Baytril).
We generally do a 2 week course of antibiotics post-neuter because rabbits and guinea pigs are both pretty prone to abscesses, and the area of the incision is in a particularly messy area that is prone to having feces and urine exposed to it. We also generally do Metacam (a pain killer) for at least 1 day post surgery, and typically for 2-3 days, depending on how the animal is acting.
