We have a new bunny. A girl I know went to New York this past weekend with a friend of hers. They went to Central Park and saw a girl playing with a bunny. After speaking with her she told them it was a stray bunny that had come up to her. Well, George (the girl I know) is like me and could not leave him there. She brought him all the way back to Philly on the train.
They could not keep him because her husband is very allergic to bunnies. They also already have a bird, lizard and dog (that he is also allergic to). I work with the husband and he told me about the bunny and something about this bun reminded him of Tabby.
Needless to say he is now upstairs in our house. He is staying in the purple cage that all the buns start in until they are fixed and house broken.
We tried to come up with something that referred to Central Park or New York. We could not agree on it. Well we decided to name him a T name after Tabby.
He is so special we know that Tabby had to have something to do with all this.
He is amazing. I gave him a bath. His paws were dirty and his tush had discolored fur on it. He just licked my hands as I washed him. He let me wrap him in a towel and hold him like a baby. He even let me use the hair dryer on him!
He has his first doctors appointment on Friday and his neuter is Tuesday.

I know people let rabbits go there all the time...it's awful. At least three rabbits at the rescue here were found in NYC wandering around.

Thanks everyone!
The girls at work don't approve of his name. They said it doesn't reference NYC. But we cannot come up with any other ideas. Until someone gives a name that Jay and I agree on he will be my little Teddy Bun.
Oh and last night he was kissing my nose. It was the cutest thing.
Stephanie - it's funny one of the guys I work with keeps saying that George stole Teddy from someone in the park.
Meggie OC - George really is very sweet. She took him home and had her own baby with her! She had help from a friend for part of the trip but had to come from Jersey to Philly with the baby and Teddy.
I hope that she is able to come visit him soon.

That is so cool! Congratulations!

So what does he look like? What color? Any guess as to what breed he resembles? Can't wait for some pictures....

He had his first vet appointment today and did very well. He had his pre op blood work drawn.
He went to work with me today. And 8 year old boy was there and he played with him most of the day. The little boy just carried him all over and followed him around as he hopped the hallway. I could not get over how good and happy Teddy was. The little boy had a bunny before.
As soon as his nip is completed and healed I will try and bond him to the others.
I think he is a dwarf bunny because his ears are so short. He also has points on his nose and ears like Penelope but his are really, really light gray color. His head seems rather large to me though. Much larger than Penelope's but that could be because he is not fixed?
