This is my bunny Menchi
Hi ya ( as lightning dances acrost the power lines outside, Maybe not all together trying to send this..but its by popular Demand) Everyone,
I resuced the mom from the back seat of a car, the guy thought that letting her go would provide a safe home for her...well I adopted the rabbit, and to my supprise she had kit's 2 weeks later < Was excelent at hiding it too, my vet didn't even know durring her check-up>, So I found homes for two of the three kits and kept one for myself, she was the runt of the group and actually I didn't know if she would survive, well she did and here is a picture of her...
She is a Lionhead Rabbit, Single Mane..beautiful broken fur coloration
Sincerely,
Don

She is not a rare breed, its just the ARBA hasn't recognized the breed yet. Don't quote me on this one but I beleve that they will be showing them this year....I think. Anywho I'm so proud to have her and her mom, I get all kinds of comments on how beautiful she is, or how uniquely diffrent she is. I do petstore visits when I can ( the requirements is that the petstore musn't have rabbits and Guinea Pigs Must be in closed dormitories for me to visit, why, simple, The sniffles and FMS) this both allows the young one to get used to people of all types, and allows me to expose rabbits to the public, answer questions and myths about them. Hopefully soon I'll be really pro-active in BunnyLu by me helping in the adoption process, passing out information and brochures, and just generally exposing them to the public. I look at it this way, I've got hundreds of lives at stake here, and the vehicle to save them, I've just got to put the pedle to metal and drive.
Well, I'm off to try to get some sleep, if it would stop storming ( Really bad, lightning and thundering for two hours now violently, winds and hail have finally passed, guess thats either good, or the calm before the real storm )
Sincerely,
Don

She is very pretty! That is pretty cool that you were in the right place at the right time like that!
Lion heads are starting to get very popular in these parts too. It's obvious why, they are quite lovely.

I'm glad to have had the opertunity to have saved her, but I'm rather excited to have the even bigger task of saving hundreds of lives like mine hopefully in the near future. Some may think that I'm just out for the bunnies, you may be right partically, but I hope to see all creatures big and small, mamals and reptiles have a second chance, for whom are we to decided wither a creature lives or dies. Furthermore why would one bring in a pet knowing all well that he or she can't care for the creature, why must that creature suffer so for someone elses mistake. My goal is two fold, first and fore most is to educate those that I may meet on pet adoption, how it not only saves a life and gives another chance, but also diminishes a lot of problems associated with a " Baby" pet. Secondly is to adopt out or help adopt out as many of these creatures as I can, thru education and dedication, I know I can do it. It was once said that if the cause in your heart is pure and true, and you beleve, then others will walk along side of you in your beleif.
Sincerly,
Don

Sorry I haven't been on the board lately, most prob. think I fell off the edge of the planet or something to that effect. Don't rule out I've gone crazy, wasn't sane to begin with anyways...lol.
Work, life and realtives have kept me so busy I'm running forewards backwards on my hands standing on my head it seems lately. Computer crashed and lost all my link's, I'm just glad someone replied to a post so I could get my link back (thanks a bunch Nall). Anyways, I'll prob. be on often, try to read all the new posts and keep up with the board.
Well I'm going to hop off here and clean a cage, try to reassemble my home and life and figure out what laundry needs to be done before tommrow...May help to have clean clothes for work...
Sincerely,
Don and the bunny hop crew
