veggie lists
im looking for a more complete veggie list than whats posted on rabbit.org, i had found one before and printed out, but if course ive no clue where it is, or where i printed it from?
Hoppity really needs more veggies in his diet. hes been only getting veggies every once in awhile cuz well we mostly eat frozen veggies, can he have those?
hes really picky, ive been trying to find things he likes that he can have every day. He will eat some Cilantro and Romaine lettuce, never much tho, and ive heard some people say romaine lettuce is ok, and others say that all lettuce is bad so i only give it to him once in awhile.. he loves carrots, but i cant find them anywhere with the tops still on, he wont go near cellery.. a few people told me to give him kale but i cant seem to find any, would it be called something else? or maybe our stores just dont carry it.

I don't know much about bunnies, but I know with lettuce and rats it's not great to feed a lot of. Lettuce is very watery and it only contains fiber, no real vitamins or anything.
I'm sorry I couldn't be more help I'm just telling you what I know.
Maybe rats and bunnies have the same type of diets but like I said I don't know.

You said he was picky so I'll list some veggies that are healthy and loved by most bunnies....or at least mine.
Mint leaves, basil, parsley, romaine and red leaf lettuce, dandelion greens, carrot greens, escarole, chickory, and spring mix. That's not all I feed...those are just the healthiest/tastiest ones.
Other fruits and veggies I feed are brocolli, baby spinach, bell peppers, tomatoes (just the fruit once in a while), celery, cucumbers, zucchini, apples, bananas, grapes (only a couple), rasberries, blueberries, baby carrots, clovers, dill, and cilantro.
Hope that helps .

Never use head lettuces. Always buy leaf lettuces. I never knew what the difference was until we got Tabby. If it's round it's a head lettuce. If it's shaped more like romaine it's should be a leaf lettuce. The house rabbit society's site has a great list. You should also review it with your vet. My vet feels that spinach is good for bunnies in moderation. I have read in many places not to give it to them.
I will try to remember to post my list on here.

My vet told me that buns can also have squash (which is similar to zucchini). I usually mix it with some bell peppers and all my buns enjoy it.
