I used it for food, and IMO it works really well. The only thing is, its kinda a pain to clean, because you have to unscrew it and rescrew it when you put it on, and it takes a little while.

I saw some crocks that look something like this one in a pet store, I think with the bird stuff, where once you have it mounted, you can just remove the cup by twisting it and lifting it from the mount, and the mount stays on the cage.

Does anyone use anything different to line their rabbit cage?
I'm trying cardboard until I find something better.

I have 4 outdoor hutches with solid bottoms. I bought a cow mat at a farm supply store and cut it up to line the bottom of my hutches. Cow mats are made of rubber, and they are made for animals to lay on in barns with concrete floors. The one drawback is that when I wash them and wipe them dry, my drying towel will turn black from the rubber. My rabbits can't dig through them. The material they are made of is like car tires. They are much like anti-stress mats that people use to stand on when they have to stand in one place for hours.

I never heard of cow mats before... Sounds interesting!
Right now, Im using rugs and this one type of mat that I forgot the name of... But its clear and kinda plasticy/rubbery, and it has little spikes on the bottom because your supposed to put it over your carpeting. It works well to cover up wire bottoms, because the little spikes on the bottom help it stay in place, and its super easy to wash. Its in my indoor cage too, but I had to put a towel under it for the spikey things to grip.

Vinyl Runners. I use those on the top levels of my multi-level hutches. I had one rabbit that chewed on them, but stopped when I put hay on top of the floor. If you make a NIC condo, those runners are the perfect width for 2 grid pannels.
