I feel like a bad mother to my gecko....

I feel like a terrible mother.
Two questions:
1) my leopard gecko was hiding in her cage and i couldnt find her so i freaked and i was holding her cave at the time, well, i dropped it. and she was under it. it didnt hit her but it probably scared her. and then i held her and she jumped. my first instinct was to just grab. i grabbed her tail. her tail didnt fall off or anything and she seems to be acting normal, but do you think i traumatized her? :/

2) my friend forgot to turn my gecko's light on. so she went a whole day without light. can that be harmful? or have a negative side-effect?

Your learning I am sure your gecko forgives you.

Next time check everything in the tank and put things down slowly.

The light shouldn't be a problem. Leopard geckos don't even need special lighting.

Are you using the lights to heat the tank? Like canadiancritter said, they don't need special lighting, but they do need heat. I don't use lights on my gecko tanks at all, but I use under tank heaters to keep the temperatures right.

If she's acting normal I'm sure she's fine. Maybe give her some time to herself to calm down before you try to handle her again.

She'll probably forget soon enough, I wouldn't worry .

As for the lighting, they don't even need special lighting and many people keep them without lights.
